How Leetzy was born….
I was walking through the mall one evening and saw a booth selling a word game. I almost bought it but then I remembered how much I can’t stand word games, for the simple fact, I’m not the world’s greatest speller. Then it occurred to me, wouldn’t it be great if there was a word game where spelling didn’t matter. Thus, Eleet Games began. I had been working on several prototypes using different font styles and card sizes and was planning on calling the game Eleet (based on the fact that Leet Speak uses numbers and symbols to represent letters). During the Christmas holidays, we had a family game night at my Aunt’s Shirley’s house where my cousin Mel Vesely from California had came to visit. He played the game with us and immediately saw the potential of this unique game. Having had 35 years of marketing experience and being an owner of several businesses, he approached me with a business proposal to become partners and form a company called Eleet Games. Together we have developed my simple idea for a card game into a simply awesome game called Leetzy. – Aaron Scroggins
